BPSC Recruitment 2018 – Eligibility Criteria:
Those who are looking forward to appearing in the BPSC 2018 Examination need to go through the below mention eligibility criteria such as:
Qualification: Those who have completed their graduation in any of the disciplines from some recognized college or university can appear for the test. Graduation degree must be in Mathematics/Civil Engineering/Chemical engineering/Economics/ Natural Science/ Geology/Mechanical Engineering.
Age: The candidate those who are not less than 37 in the general category can appear in the exam. However, age is 40 years for OBC category candidates and 42 years for SC and ST category candidates. There is age relaxation for sure according to the rules framed by the government.

Exam Pattern:
BPSC examination needs to appear in two different parts such as:
- Preliminary examination: This paper is objective type exam. This paper is based on the qualifying examination for which candidates need to go through multiple choice questions. One needs to choose the apt answer from the available options. In all, there will be 150 questions for 1 mark each. The exam duration will be for 2 hours.
- Main examination: This paper is a written test or one can call it a subjective type exam.

Facility for 2 Optional Subjects: The list to choose any two subjects is as follows:

Process of Selection:
The selection of the candidates is truly based on the performance attained in the BPSC exam and interview.
In written test, there are 4 different papers in the Main examination such as:
(i) Hindi
(ii) General Studies
(iii) First Optional Paper and
(iv) Second Optional Paper
Total marks for Written Examination is 1200.
Hindi: The applicants need to acquire minimum 30 marks in Hindi. There will no proviso for counting any extra marks in total marks.
General Studies: It is divided into two different categories such as:
- GS Paper I
- GS Paper II
The maximum marks for GK will be 200 and need to complete in three hours. GS section is then divided into three different sections such as:
First Optional Paper –
Paper 4 – paper I of First Optional subjects for 200 Marks
Paper 5 – paper II of First Optional subject for 200 Marks
Second Optional Paper –
Paper 6 – paper I of Second Optional Subject for 200 Marks
Paper 7 – paper II of Second Optional Subject for 200 Marks

It is advised for choosing the optional subjects wisely and according to the interest. Then start making preparation for it. After clearing the Prelims as well as written test, the candidate will move for Personal Interview which comprises of 150 marks.
